Looking Glass Unreal Engine Pluginを使ってみました
UE4.26とLooking Glass Unreal Engine Pluginを使い、Looking Glass Portraitに3Dモデルを表示させてみました。

UEエディタを起動し新規プロジェクトを作成
プロジェクトフォルダの下にあるPluginsフォルダにプラグインのフォルダごと置く
UEエディタ再起動
UEエディタ>編集>プラグインよりHoloPlayを有効化しUEエディタ再起動
UEエディタでHoloでクラス検索するとHolo Play Captureが表示されるので、
ビューポートにドラッグして追加
エディタビューポートの上にある「HoloPlay」ボタンをクリックしてLooking Glass Portraitで見る
Looking Glass Portrait has arrived
I received the "Looking Glass Portrait" holographic display from Looking Glass Factory, which I backed on Kickstarter in December,2020.
It is a product that allows you to view 3D holograms with the naked eye. Although it is actually a volumetric display, the word hologram is used to make it more understandable. In any case, it is a product that you cannot understand until you actually experience it, and I am very satisfied with it.
The price was $199 (with a $150 discount for the Super Early Bird Special) plus $20 for shipping, for a total of $219. As a bonus, it comes with 20 2D to 3D conversion codes, which is a service that converts 2D images into depth maps.
In addition, there are plugins available for 3D viewers and game engines, among other things.

Looking Glass Portraitが届いた
2020年12月にKiskstarterでバックしたLooking Glass Factory社のホログラフィックディスプレイ"Looking Glass Portrait"が届きました。
裸眼で3Dホログラムがみれるという製品です。正しくはボリューメトリックディスプレイとなりますが、伝わりやすいようホログラムという単語を使われているようです。いずれにしても実際に体験してみないと分からなかった製品でありとても満足しています。
価格は199ドル(Super Early Bird Special の150ドル引き)、配送20ドルの計219ドルでした。特典として20回分の2D to 3D Conversionコードがついてます。2D to 3D Conversionは、2D画像をdepth mapに変換してくれるサービスです。
また、3Dビューアーやゲームエンジン向けのプラグインなども公開されています

NorthStarDisplayに映像を出す
Project North Star Display Driver BoardにはMiniDPがついてます。私が使用するPCにはMiniDPしかない為、MiniDPケーブルを準備すればよいのですが、先日買った既存のMini DP -DPケーブルを使いたくこちらのアダプターを購入しました。

電源はアンペア数かケーブルの長さの問題か分かりませんが既存のUSB3.0(3m)を使うとディスプレイがチカチカし不安定の為、取り敢えずOculus Questの電源アダプター⇔USB変換アダプター(USB Type-C(オス) to USB3.0(メス))⇔Project North Star Display Driver Boardで表示確認はできたので原因を探り結果をこちらで更新したいと思います。
ダイソーのType-C メス↔️Type-c オス 0.5m(3A対応)でも映像出せました。

North Star用射出成形リフレクター
Project North Star製作の課題といえば、コストと研磨に時間がかかるリフレクターでしたが全てクリアしてくれる射出成形リフレクター(injection molded reflector lens)が発売されたことをTwitterで知り、早速購入しました。レンズ2個で40ドル(送料別)ととても安価です。発送方法はいくつかありますがDeutsche Post Airmail(4.70ドル)を選択、発送から到着まで2週間程。

届いたレンズ
3万円ほどかけて作ったリフレクターが5千円で済んでしまうのですがいい経験させてもらったなあと思いながら入れ替えました。
